ABOUT US
Community Caregivers of Northwest Louisiana was born from a simple but powerful desire to uplift those in need. In 2008, our founder, Charles Edward Johnson, began working within the Shreveport community, offering support, encouragement, and hands-on help to individuals and families facing hardship. What started as personal outreach quickly evolved into a faith-driven mission that touched lives across neighborhoods.
By 2010, this work had grown into Charles Johnson Ministries, a grassroots effort focused on spiritual empowerment and compassionate service. As the vision expanded, so did the need to organize and sustain the growing demand for community-focused initiatives. This led to the formal establishment of Community Caregivers of Northwest Louisiana, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening individuals and families across all walks of life.
Today, our programs are making measurable impact in key areas:
-
Women’s Empowerment – offering resources, mentoring, and support for women to thrive personally and professionally
-
Youth Development – equipping young people with leadership skills, college and career prep, and positive role models
-
School Support – partnering with local schools to provide classroom resources, staff appreciation, and student enrichment
-
Race Relations – fostering dialogue, understanding, and unity through intentional community conversations and events
-
Senior Engagement – delivering care, companionship, and support to elderly residents
-
Entrepreneur Support – mentoring and equipping aspiring business owners to launch and grow sustainable ventures.
At Community Caregivers, our heart is in the people we serve. Whether we’re delivering resources, organizing programs, or standing in the gap for someone in need, we remain committed to our founding purpose: to care for the community with compassion, excellence, and faith.
